Nevertheless, he's finally back in the newest "retro" Sonic game, and this hopefully is just the first of many new appearances. Fang has never appeared in the more mainstream 3D titles in any major way, and it might be that his design is too old-school and "cartoony" next to the likes of the edgy Shadow the Hedgehog and others. More than likely, this was due to how long Classic Sonic has been out of the proverbial (and literal) game, as Sega has only begun tapping into such nostalgia in the past decade.
